Dual Special Needs?
A Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP) is a type of Medicare Advantage plan that is specifically designed to meet the needs of people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. Enrollment in a DSNP allows you to receive all your covered benefits from one provider, making things much simpler and more convenient. To be eligible for a DSNP, you must have both Medicare Part A and Part B, as well as full Medicaid coverage. You will also need to maintain your Medicaid coverage throughout the time you are enrolled in a DSNP. This means that a DSNP will not cause you to lose your Medicaid coverage, as you must have Medicaid to be eligible for the DSNP. If you should happen to lose your Medicaid coverage for any reason, you will no longer be for the DSNP.
