What Does Medicare Services Cover?

Medicare services are a vital part of the health care system in the United States. Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance to people over the age of 65 and younger people with disabilities.

Medicare provides coverage for various healthcare services, including hospital care, doctor visits, prescription drugs, and more. Medicare Advantage plans are also available, which provide additional coverage beyond what is offered by Medicare itself.
While Medicare does not cover every possible healthcare need, it does provide significant coverage for a wide variety of medical services and procedures. As such, Medicare can play an important role in helping seniors, and disabled individuals access the care they need.

Senior Healthcare Advisors are the best in their field in assisting Medicare recipients with making informed decisions in choosing a healthcare plan. We specialize exclusively in Medicare Advantage Plans, and all our agents have certifications and licenses from major companies like Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross, and Wellcare. Medicare Advantage – Open Enrollment 2023

During the Fall Open Enrollment Period (from October 15 to December 7), you can choose to change your health coverage, add or drop Medicare drug coverage, or make other changes to your coverage. Be sure to review all of your options carefully before making any changes, as your last choice will take effect on January 1. It is usually best to make as few changes as possible during this period to avoid any enrollment problems. If you have any questions, be sure to contact your insurance company or Medicare directly for more information.

If you decide that you would like to switch to a Medicare Advantage Plan during the Fall Open Enrollment Period, you will have an additional opportunity to do so during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP). This period runs from January 1 through March 31 each year, and changes made during this time will take effect the first of the month following the month in which you make the change. For example, if you switch to a Medicare Advantage Plan on March 15, your coverage under the new plan will begin on May 1. If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan and are happy with your coverage, you do not need to do anything during the MA OEP 2023. Your coverage will automatically renew for the next year.

However, if you are not satisfied with your Medicare Advantage Plan, you may switch to a different Medicare Advantage Plan or return to your Original Medicare during this period. You can also drop your Medicare Advantage Plan and return to Original Medicare without signing up for a prescription drug plan. .

So, if you switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan to Original Medicare, you cannot switch back to a Medicare Advantage Plan later in the year. If you have questions about your coverage options or the MA OEP, contact your insurance company or Medicare directly for more information.
