Steps to Apply
Visit the official Social Security website at SSA.gov/extrahelp.
Click on “Apply for Extra Help with Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Costs.”
Complete and submit the online form.
You can also apply by calling 1-800-772-1213 or visiting your local Social Security office.
Once approved, you’ll receive a letter confirming your Extra Help status and explaining how much assistance you’ll get with your Medicare Part D plan.
